Both of these materials are FDA approved and very cost-effective. High-density polyethylene, or HDPE, is resistant to mild acids, solvents, oils, and water, making it ideal for an array of applications. As a result of this versatility, HDPE is used to produce everything from packaging to medical components. HDPE hollow balls are excellent for roller application of cosmetic or personal care products as well as food and beverage mixing and flow control of liquids during food processing.

Polypropylene also has excellent chemical resistance to commonly used acids, oils, and water-based liquids, but has a higher temperature resistance than HDPE.
