For more than 60 years, Precision Plastic Ball has been manufacturing high-quality plastic balls.

During that time, we have developed a comprehensive line of products to suit virtually any need. Our capabilities include manufacturing precision balls from materials, including FDA and DFARS compliant materials, with a large variety of attributes.

Plastic Resin Balls

Our standard plastic resin balls are available in 13 different materials, from acetate to PVC. With more than 1,000 models, some uses for our Plastic Resin Balls include:

  • Food applications
  • Cosmetic and personal care applications
  • Flow control and fluid handling
  • Petrochemical and hydraulic fracturing

High Performance Plastic Balls

We manufacture lines of high-performance plastic balls in six materials, including PEEK and Vespel. Our High-Performance Plastic Balls, which feature high corrosion resistance, high-temperature resistance, and other important attributes, are ideal for use in:

  • Medical and laboratory settings
  • Fluid handling applications
  • Petrochemical processes

Filled Plastic Precision Balls

We offer 47 different filled plastic precision balls, balls filled with fiberglass. Filled balls are available in Delrin, Nylon, and PTFE. Filled balls provide better heat resistance, dimensional, mechanical, and other properties than standard balls of the same materials. They are well suited for applications that require:

  • Wear, impact, and deformation resistance
  • Increased tensile, flexural, and compression strength
  • Low thermal expansion and warpage

We also offer a Barium-Filled LDPE ball that is used for X-Rays.

Hollow Plastic Precision Balls

Hollow plastic precision balls, hollow spheres manufactured from LDPE, polypropylene, or HDPE, can float in most liquids. They are used to reduce exposed liquid surface by as much as 90%, reducing evaporation and fumes, and supplying insulation. Hollow balls are used in:

  • Petrochemical processes
  • Desalination and water treatment processes
  • Sanitation and other processes
  • Shade ball applications, protecting drinkable water sources

Rubber Resin Balls

We produce over 140 rubber resin balls using 7 different types of rubber: natural rubber, nitrile rubber (Buna rubber), polyurethane, Viton, EPDM, silicone, and neoprene. The properties of these different rubbers vary greatly and are applicable for use in in a variety of capacities:

  • Water and steam resistant applications
  • Hydraulic, ketone, and alkali fluid applications
  • Electrical insulation applications

Ceramic Precision Balls

Ceramic materials are made from a combination of metallic and non-metallic atoms. They are lighter and harder than steelĀ and have very high resistances to fracture, corrosion, chemicals, and more. Ceramic precision balls are best used to meet these requirements:

  • Very high-temperature resistance
  • No electrical conductivity or magnetic properties
  • Low vibration or heat creation

Alloy/Steel Precision Balls

In addition to our industry-leading plastic balls, we manufacture a number of metal balls. More than 30 balls made of stainless steel, chrome steel, or aluminum make up our alloy/steel precision balls line. Steel may be a better option than plastic for certain:

  • Corrosive environments
  • Aerospace applications
  • Automotive applications

Hollow Steel Precision Balls

Precision Plastic Ball produces different hollow alloy precision balls. Like Hollow plastic precision balls, hollow aluminum precision balls are designed to float on the surface of some fluids. Hollow steel and aluminum precision balls are designed for use in:

  • Float applications in fluids that corrode plastic or rubber
  • Frac / Oil & Gas
  • Mining

Registration Spheres

Registration spheres, also known as targeting spheres, are among the largest balls produced by Precision Plastic Ball. They are specially designed for use in:

  • LiDAR sensing applications
  • FARO 3D measurement applications

Other Precision Products

Aside from our core offerings and product lines, Precision Plastic Ball is capable of manufacturing a large number of special balls.

These additional balls include balls made out of particular material, such as brass, carbon, santoprene, borosilicate, or styrofoam; or for particular purposes, such as for indicators and gauges.
