PVC Features / Properties
Balls manufactured from PVC (polyvinyl chloride) are lightweight, resistant to bacterial growth and surface corrosion, non-toxic, and resistant to radiation. PVC plastic balls also boast a high hardness and a good resistance to oils. This makes PVC balls ideal for industrial applications.
PVC plastic balls are most commonly used in a variety of valves, including valves used in the oil & gas industry. The most common use for rigid PVC is that of pipes and plumbing materials. With the addition of plasticizers, PVC can be made flexible for use in many everyday applications such as plastic gloves.

Weaknesses
- PVC balls are subject to some stress cracking at high temperatures
- Attacked by many organic solvents
- Not recommended for use above 70º C (Although it can be taken to 80º C for short periods)
- Poor resistance to aromatic and halogenated hydrocarbons, ketones, cyclic ethers, and aldehydes
